The British Association of Hokkaido Ken Rescue
We understand that sometimes, due to changes in circumstances, relationship breakdowns and other genuine reasons, that rehoming your beloved pet may become the only option. Currently, there are no Hokkaido Ken in any rescue in the United Kingdom, and Hokkaido Ken can only be acquired from a breeder. If you have a Hokkaido Ken who needs rehoming, we urge you to contact us and the breeder of your dog as soon as possible.
We have a wide network of owners and friends, with contacts across the country which can help you to find the perfect forever home for your pet..
Please note that we work solely with the Hokkaido Ken who do not currently have their own breed-specific rescue. if you need to re-home your Shiba Inu, Akita Inu, please contact one of the charities specialising in the rehoming of these breeds. For any other medium Nihon Ken Breed (Kai Ken, Kishu Ken, Shikoku Ken) please contact The Association of Nihon Ken for assistance.
Remember, if you are looking to rehome your Hokkaido Ken, your first point of contact should always be your breeder, who will more than likely wish to be involved in the rehoming process or may even ask that you return the dog to them. Please consider the contract you made between yourself and your breeder before contacting BAHK for assistance with rehoming. We will happily work alongside owners and breeders to help you find the perfect home.
Hokkaido Ken are a breed who do not do well in a rescue environment, so it is crucial that we are contacted as soon as possible.
